Today is Veteran’s Day and there is news about President Elect Barack Obama’s plans to rule by Executive Order.   Obama must learn where Executive Orders rule.

The first President, George Washington was the country’s greatest veteran.  It was Washington who caused the President of the United States, POTUS, to be confused with the Commander in Chief.  The POTUSA is Commander in Chief.

Article II Section 1 vests the executive Power in a President of the United States of America, POTUSA.  Article I vests the POTUS with legislative power.

President Elect Obama will, if he follows precedent set by George Washington, take the oath of Office of President of the United States, POTUS.  Public education has rendered all who attend such institutions incapable of distinguishing between the two Offices.

There are, of course, significant differences.  The POTUS is a legislative Officer without any other qualifications.  The POTUSA, as an executive Officer, is under the Articles of Confederation, and who is not required to take any oath.

The Congress of the United States permits the POTUS to act like a dictator outside of government property, because its power depends on his.

Let President Elect Barack Obama know you don’t want him to be dictator.
